My Body's Mine: A Book on Boundaries and Sexual Abuse Prevention  helps children learn they own the rights to their body. Told through rhyme from a child's point of view, this book on boundaries empowers each child to say no when others approach him/her in ways that make him/her uncomfortable. It also gives clear instructions on what to do if he/she is approached in an unwanted manner. The questions at the end of the book provides an easy transition for counselors and parents to open a discussion to prevent abuse or to further explore if abuse has occurred.

I’ll Always Remember helps a child know their feelings of grief are normal. Told through rhyme from a child’s point of view, this book shares strategies empowering the child to learn ways of handling their grief reactions in a healthy way. The Parent Guide at the back of the book provides parents and counselors a deeper understanding of grief reactions and how to assist the child in managing those reactions. Included are suggestions of what to and not to say to someone who is grieving, activities to preserve memories, and scripts for starting conversations with ease and confidence.

I'll Always Remember Reviews

"My Body's Mine was a missing piece of literature in abuse prevention & I am so thankful to Ms. Marnach for writing it!"

Another must have on the office shelf! It discusses all emotions and physical reactions to grief.

Kayla writes with evocative skill and a deep sense of compassion for hurting children and families. Many writers have sought to help children navigate the complexities of abuse, neglect and fear, but have been ill at ease with the subject matter. Kayla speaks practically and poetically with insight into one of the most compelling new discoveries for children in the modern context – the expanding universe of empirical research that is teaching us about how to most effectively join the healing journey of children from hard places.

I have never seen nor read a book with such detailed guiding information.

My 3-year-old little boy and I read My Body’s Mine last night for the first time. He immediately came up with a rhyme from the book: “Neck to No, Neck to Knee.” I feel like this book has given him a good sense of his body being his, and nobody should touch it, or ask him to keep secrets. It also tells him who is safe to tell if something does happen. Thank You for creating such an easy way to talk about this subject with young children!
  Tammy Wright, Mother
Read it in sections or all at once. The Parent Guide is invaluable! It includes” what to say” and “what not to say,” and has kid friendly conversation scripts.

My Body's Mine is an excellent resource for helping parents and kids break open the barriers and talk about sexual abuse. The picture book provides easy to understand instructions for children of any age to recognize sexual abuse. The inviting illustrations and sing-song rhyme encourages kids to read on their own or along with exercises that the parent and child can do together. I am a very protective mother of six children and will highly recommend this book; in fact, I believe this book should be in every daycare center, school, church, and home. A must-read for anyone who has a child!
  Marilyssa Dolese, Mother
It’s thoroughly researched and well written. This book will help all who experience loss at any age.
